I'm so confused. New job, separating?, and Katrina. Makes one's brain mushy.

I've started blogs before (like a dozen times now) so I don't know why I'm trying again. I haven't been keeping a journal, which really helps me with tidying up my messy brain, so I'll give this one last try.

And maybe if I do this regularly I'll have confidence in my ability to make myself do stuff and -- and I'll join a gym and then -- then I will get skinny again. Yay! Kinda convoluted logic, there, yo.

I can rationalize anything. It's a gift.

My mind is full of the hurricane today. God, poor New Orleans and Biloxi and Gulfport. Let's see: Biloxi and Gulfport are practically destroyed but in some ways are actually better off than New Orleans as they're not, oh, currently under water. I originally put 'water' in finger quotes as the floodwater is actually a tasty fuel, dead body and chemical/toxic waste Slushee®.

Yum!

I think they might be better off deserting New Orleans and building it back somewhere above sea level. Or build a real dike (not that kind) system. Anyway, the existing system is obviously not sufficient to protect New Orleans and will need to be redone. Man, that city is toast. It's heartbreaking.
